If any genre has seen a boom this decade it's definitely documentary and I'm glad you took time to dissect why it happened.

It's undeniable Michael Moore's influence on the genre, but I would say my favorite docs are those by Errol Morris and Werner Herzog. Then there is my ultimate guilty pleasure - 'Spellbound.'
